Veterinarian-Internist
PESCM, located in San Rafael, is the original 24/7 veterinary hospital in Marin County, with specialties in Internal Medicine, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Surgery, Neurology, Cardiology, Emergency, Critical Care and Radiology. Our mission is to serve pets and their people by continually pushing to improve our medicine, our service, our communication, and ourselves.
Why Join Our Team: We are not your typical veterinary hospital.
PESCM is run by managers who have been with the hospital for a decade or more, all promoted from within. We are former nurses and client service staff who understand what employees need, because we’ve been there ourselves: predictable schedules, regular time off, competitive pay, generous benefits, and a nurturing yet professional environment that fosters your growth and success.
We know the winning recipe is making a space for you to do good work and be part of the special kind of team unique to veterinary medicine, where the only way to combat compassion fatigue is to take care of each another.
How you'll make a difference:
- Under direction from our Medical Director, there is abundant opportunity to create a flexible schedule which will allow for almost limitless professional growth. Responsibilities include mentoring support staff and intern doctors, providing counsel to the other specialists, and collaborating with the referring veterinarian community.
What you will bring:
- The ideal addition to this team will have a deep passion for client education and empathy, as well as a strong interest and belief in an evidence-based clinical approach. You will thrive in and foster an environment of collaboration, support for the individual as well as the entire hospital team, and patient welfare. As our Internal Medicine Specialist, you will possess an unwavering commitment to the highest level of quality medicine as well as client service. You view a challenge as an opportunity to grow and strive to continuously improve themselves and others. If this describes you, then this is your hospital.
*Four weekdays, (flexible)
*Potential for on-call coverage for ultrasounds and endoscopies, one weekend/month
